"Day Two: Unexpected Comforts on the Road"
“He told me I could eat as much as I wanted for just Rs. 100. I was like, ‘How is that even possible?’ Well, it was my first time eating at any dhaba and hearing such a thing. After day one, I started early in the morning at around 6:00. I was a bit tired, and my muscles were telling me to stop, but I knew they would get used to it after some time. The weather was good in the morning, but as the sun started rising, it became intense and unbearable. However, I managed to pedal until 1 in the afternoon and saw a dhaba where I decided to take a break. That’s where I learned about the unlimited thali. It included roti as many as you could eat, daal, one sabji, and curry as much as you wanted. And the food was really very tasty authentic Rajashthani Lunch.
After lunch, I decided to rest at the dhaba for a while, and the owner agreed. I started again in the evening around 4 o’clock. Now it was time to find a place to stay for the night as I had already pedaled around 70 KMs.
At around 5:30 in the evening, I saw a tea stall and thought I needed a tea break. There was a guy named Hari from up, and he rented that place for his stall. I asked, ‘Can I find someplace to stay for the night?’ He asked me, ‘Why don’t you stay at my place?’ ‘Where?’ I asked. ‘Here, I have beds in the open sky, and what else do you want?’ he replied. I thought, ‘This is what I want.’ But there was one thing; it was beside the highway, and there was a lot of noise. However, I thought I would manage.
That’s how my day two ended, and I was ready for day three. On day three, I had to reach Jaipur. It is around 100 km from there.”
